AutoCaption keeps your video on your device. To create captions, the app uploads the audio track to the AutoCaption server. The server sends that audio to OpenRouter, which runs the Whisper model to transcribe it. Audio is not stored after transcription finishes.
Captions and project data stay in the app's local database. The app reads only the videos you choose to import.
Free accounts see Google AdMob ads: a full-screen ad when you come back to Home, History, or Settings, and a rewarded video you can choose when you are out of minutes. AdMob may collect device identifiers, including the advertising ID, to show and measure those ads. Pro removes the ads. You can limit ad personalization in your device settings. Purchases are processed by Google Play and RevenueCat.
